For repairs on the transmission mount, you should not only remove the negative connection from the battery, but also raise the car on a hoist. Withdraw the through bolt and nut and then under the transmission with a jack and elevate it a bit. After that, unscrew the nuts that hold the insulator to the crossmember and lift the insulator out. Place the rear engine support bracket over the transmission when the old one has been removed and tighten the stud nuts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Secure the insulator to the transmission mounting crossmember, making sure to turn the stud nuts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) torque. Unhook the transaxle and engine from the chassis, then fit the bracket between the insulator and the rear engine support, install and secure the through-bolt, tightening it to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) of torque. Take the jack out of the transmission, bring the vehicle down and reattach the negative cable to the battery.
