How to Maintain a Fuel Tank Skid Plate on Dodge Durango?

Before servicing the fuel tank skid plate, you should lift and support the vehicle with a jack and later attach a suitable lifting device to the plate. With four bolts out, you can remove the three bolts on the skid place which will let you take it off. Position and support the skid plate under the fuel tank and then screw on the inboard bolts until they reach a torque of 41 N.m (30 ft.lbs.). The last step is to connect the skid plate to the frame side rail with bolts and tighten them to 37 N.m (27 ft.lbs.).
