Fuel Tank is part of Dodge Magnum vehicles that help in holding and also discharging fuel to the car engine for operational purposes. It normally accommodates such hardware as electric fuel pump and fuel gauge sender and for the purpose of preventing fuel sloshing and noise there are baffles put in the tank. Dodge Magnum Fuel Tanks can be of metal or plastic, however, the later is category is stamped and welded from metal like steel or aluminum while plastic tanks are formed from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE). Dodge Magnum vehicles have over the years incorporated these different types of Fuel Tanks with its individual attributes. Metal tanks tend to rust and swell when exposed to moisture while miniature plastic tanks tend to crack when exposed to extreme temperatures. Thus both types are created to sustain severe undercar environ conditions & you have factory leakage test as inherent safety features only. The Dodge Magnum Fuel Tank is among those appendages that play significant roles in determining the performance and safety of vehicles, changes in their design, and materials.

Dodge Magnum Fuel Tank Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Fuel Tank Installed on Dodge Magnum?
    A:
Begin by placing the pump in the tank and joining the fuel return lines to the module, so that they are firmly attached. After that, add the fuel line to the module with a secure connection and then attach the circuit board connectors to the bottom of the module top before putting the module top onto the module base. Put the modules side by side and lined up and then use the special #9340 tool to tighten the left lock ring. Plug the electrical connector into the left side module and push on the plastic access cover until it clicks into place, then fold the foam pad back to fit . Install the lower rear Seat Cushion and make sure it does not move. After that, add fuel to the tank and join the negative Battery Cable. Once all checks are done, fill the fuel tank one more time and use the scan tool to pressure the fuel system, while watching for any leaks.
  • Q: How to Service the Fuel Tank Module on Dodge Magnum?
    A:
Make sure to let the fuel pressure go by releasing the pump's hold and unplug the negative Battery Cable before doing anything else. Leave less than 5/8 of fuel in the tank before trying to remove the lock-ring. To drain some fuel, insert a hard nylon tube with a 30° cut into the tank opening to open the check valve. To access the modules, first push the back part of the sectional forward and up, then pull back the foam top on the storage access door. Take out the electrical connector from the left side module and mark how it is set up. Take out the left side module lock ring with tool #9340 and unlock the fuel from the left tank by raising the module to connect the hose with the tank. Unplug the electrical connections from the top of the module and take off the module top half. You can release the fuel level sending card, fuel return lines and fuel supply line by pushing the release tab and pulling up the line. Take out the lower module's fuel return line and lay the module on its side to let any fuel remain inside drain out of the vehicle. Set the pump module inside the tank again, line up the fuel return lines and attach the fuel supply line securely. Return the electrical connectors to the underside of the module top and then align the marks on both tops as you place the module top onto the module bottom. Use special tool #9340 to secure the module with the lock-ring, link the electrical connector to the left side module and set the plastic access cover in place. Lay the foam pad back inside, set the rear lower Seat Cushion on its hinges, add fuel to the tank and reattach the negative battery cable. After that, use the scan tool to apply fuel pressure and see if there are any leaks.
