How to Maintain and Fix an Antenna on Dodge Neon?

You should first remove the battery negative cable prior to servicing or repairing the antenna. Open the antenna by turning and removing the mast from the antenna body. On the side of your passenger seat trim panel, find the antenna wire lead in the instrument panel harness and separate the antenna cable from the lead. Pull the push pins out of the plastic inner fender shield from the rear and move the shield to reveal the base/cable assembly. Pull the antenna assembly toward the bottom of the car and push it through the fender hole, making certain that the factory grommet is sitting in the load beam. Install the adapter above the fender, then place the cap nut onto the base/cable assembly, turning it to 7 Nm (61 in. lbs.). pushing the grommet through the side panel and then join the cable to the instrument panel connector. Before attaching the battery negative cable, place the plastic inner fender shield, passenger cowl side trim panel and antenna mast in place.
