You should begin by disconnecting the car's negative
Battery Cable, allow it to remain that way for two minutes to discharge the capacitor and then service the front seat belt and retractor. Examine all the seat belts, buckles, fittings, retractors, straps and anchors for problems, cuts, frays, tears or damage and tighten all the fasteners. The only replaceable thing in this system is the plastic web button fastener; use the instructions from the service kit to replace it. If the seat belt tensioner hasn't deployed, handle the damaged seat belt and retractor unit as you would non-deployed supplemental restraints. If the tensioner has been deployed, use the service procedures for after deployment before you remove it. Position the front seat belt and retractor to the inner B-pillar, ensuring the tab on the upper retractor bracket engages the lower B-pillar slot. Put the lower retractor bracket in place and tighten it with a screw to 44.5 Nm (33 ft. lbs.), then snap the body wire harness back onto the connector of the seat belt tensioner wire. Connect the bottom trim to the B-pillar again, place the turning loop of the seat belt onto the height adjuster, checking the webbing is not twisted and screw it up to 44.5 Nm (33 ft. lbs.). Install the B-pillar trim above, place the upper part of the front seat belt anchor at the outboard part of the seat's frame and screw in the webbing until readings shows 33.0 ft. lbs. Open the door at the outboard side of the body and insert the cover for the seat belt attachment through the opening close to the rear of the seat shield. Push it into place until it locks. Lay the seat back recliner handle over the shaft on the mechanism and press until it locks in. Wait to connect the negative side of the battery until the supplemental restraint system test has been performed after any work on that system.
