Before installing the sensor, disconnect and isolate the negative
Battery Cable, wait about two minutes and then disable the supplementary restraint system. Attach the occupant detection sensor to the passenger side seat adjuster's lower track, on top of each stud and secure both nuts to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Take care to lay down the seat track risers onto the studs that detect the seat's weight and use the tool (Special Tool No. 9689) to stop the sensor turning while you fix the nut to the track. Slide the center fork between the flats on either side of the sensor body and put the tool support yoke up against the sensor cage. Attach and tighten the connecting bolt to the seat track riser after using the alignment tool, making sure it hits the recommended force: 44.5 Nm (33 ft. lbs.). Lift and place the special tool onto each sensor, tightening the nuts on all four studs after installation. Attach the wires of the seat wire harness to both the connector at the seat track position sensor and to every one of the four weight sensors. Put the passenger side front seat back in the vehicle, but don't reconnect the battery negative cable yet. In the end, run the Occupant Classification System test after the Service and with the special Occupant Classification Seat Weight tool.
