You should begin by unscrewing the tie-rod nut, then take off the ball studs from the
Steering Knuckles with a suitable tool. Afterwards, pull out the inner tie-rod ends from the center link and the idler arm stud with a puller and finally remove the bolts from the frame. Remove the pitman arm ball stud from the center link, keep the old pitman arm and shaft positions marked and use Puller C-4150A to break the pitman arm free from the mounting before installing a new one. On installation, put the idler arm where it belongs on the frame bracket and secure it with the bolt which is adjusted according to the manual. Wheel alignment marks should guide the steering gear. After that, secure the pitman arm, install the lock washer and nut and tighten the nut to a torque of 251 Nm (185 ft. lbs.). Clamp the center link onto the ball studs and fasten the retaining nuts until the specific specification is reached, then attach the tie-rod ends and tighten the nuts to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) each. Following that, screw the tie-rod ends into the steering knuckles and fasten them with nuts at a torque of 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.). Remove all the supports and bring the car down slowly. Adjust the
Steering Wheel and toe to make sure the clamp on the sleeve is holding the retaining bolt on the bottom. After finishing adjustment, close the tie-rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolt to 61 Nm or 45 ft. lbs.
