You will find the Intake Manifold Temperature (IMT) sensor at the front or side of the intake manifold. If your engine is a 5.2L/5.9L V-8, you don't need to remove the engine cover or air cleaner housing to access and replace it. Those whose cars have the 3.9L V-6 engine must take off the engine cover and air cleaner housing. You should remove the negative battery cable from the terminal next to the battery to begin. For the 3.9L V-6, remove the cover over the engine and the air cleaner housing. After that, take the electrical connector off the sensor and pull off the sensor from the intake manifold. To put the sensor back in place, slide it into the intake manifold and use the drill to tighten it to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Join the electrical connector and, for the 3.9L V-6 engine, put in place the engine cover and air cleaner housing. After that, attach the other end of the negative cable to the battery again.
