The 4.7L V-8 has its PCV valve installed on the oil filler tube, secured by locating tabs and an O-ring seals the valve to the tube. The first step is to pull out the rubber hose that attaches the PCV line to the PCV valve fitting. After that, turn the PCV valve so it faces up, pull it upward until the locating tabs are out of the cam lock and then pull the valve straight out, aiming the tabs down to avoid damaging them. Once you have removed it, check the O-ring on the valve. You can locate the PCV valve for the 5.7L V-8 on the top of the intake manifold, right/rear of the throttle body and it is sealed by two O-rings. Turn the valve counter-clockwise 90 degrees till the tabs come loose,then take the valve straight up by the stem and, once removed, check the two valve O-rings for wear.
