How to Properly Install a Steering Wheel on Dodge Ram 2500?

Before you put the steering wheel on you want to make sure you have a new steering wheel bolt as you do not reuse the old bolt. Make sure to install the steering wheel to the steering column and tighten the steering wheel mounting bolt to the proper torque specification to ensure the optimum Clock Spring operation. Install the new steering wheel bolt and install until tight 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Last but not last, install the drivers side air bag and go through all the proper procedures for air bag service and repair.

How to Maintain and Fix a Steering Wheel on Dodge Ram 2500?

Before you start service or repair on the steering wheel, turn off the driver's side air bag and take it out. Take the steering wheel bolt out part of the way and leave it in the column. After that, use a puller CJ98-1 (or a similar tool) to push at the top of the bolt. When you're done, get rid of the steering wheel bolt and then take out the steering wheel itself.
