How to service and repair the rear Door Check on Dodge Ram 2500 Van?

Service or repair of the rear door check should start by taking apart the trim panel. After that, pull out the pin at the inner end of the check arm and remove the rubber bumper beside it. Move the door wide enough so the check arm separates from the guide pin and afterward remove the screws connecting the check arm to the hinge pillar. If they are in the way, unscrew the nuts that hold the guide to the door. During installation, attach the check arm to the hinge pillar so the spring is below and put in the screws. Should the guide disappear, center it in the door and attach the nuts. After closing the door and routing the check arm over the guide, fasten the rubber bumper onto the arm and then insert the pin into the arm before putting the trim panel back.
