To work on the power door lock actuator, disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Unscrew the power lock motor from the front door latch and next remove the door latch assembly from the front door. Flip the side of the motor that doesn't have a screw hole downwards to remove it from the latching system. Should the power lock motor fail in a vehicle with dual side or rear doors, it will require the whole latch assembly to be replaced. If working with sliding side or single back doors, then after you've disconnected the negative battery cable, remove the trim panel and grab the latch connection lever from inside the access opening to disengage it from the lock motor. After that, remove the retainer clip on the pigtail wire connector and take out the wire from the door wire harness. With the screws out of the power lock mount, pull the motor out of the inner door panel. To install in the front door, insert the motor, not the screw hole, into the bottom of the latch, turn the other piece upwards and tighten the screw to 2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Set up the door latch mechanically and attach the negative battery cable. For slider-side or rear doors, set up the motor, attach it with two screws tightened to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.), join the pigtail wire connector back, use the retainer, attach the latch link, install the trim panel and reconnect the negative battery wire.
