How to Service and Repair the Drag Link on Dodge Ram 3500?

Removing the nut from the pitman arm side is the first thing to do when servicing and repairing the center link for 4500 and 5500 models. After that, remove the nut from the drag link on the knuckle side. Then, use Puller C-3894-A to unlink both the drag link from the right knuckle and from the pitman arm.

How to Install the Drag Link on Dodge Ram 3500?

For the 4500 and 5500 models, attach the drag link (6) to the pitman arm (3) with nut (1) and tighten it to 88 Nm (65 ft. lbs.) and after that, use the cotter pin to finish the installation. After that, install the drag link onto the right steering knuckle using a tightness of 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.) plus an extra 90°. Next, mount the tie rod to the steering knuckle and drag link, tighten the nuts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.), move the tie rod to the other side and tighten up the nuts to 90° more. After taking off the supports and bringing the vehicle down, center the wheel and make sure the toe is correct. Lastly, fasten the tie rod adjustment sleeve clamp bolts to a torque of 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.).
