For servicing or repairing the driveshaft center support bearing, pull out the rear propeller shaft and place an identification mark on each shaft. After that, take out the slip joint boot clamp and fully separate the two shafts. Hit on the slinger to move it from the shaft with a hammer and punch, then place Bearing Splitter Tool 1130 between the shaft and the slinger, taking care not to touch the shaft spline while removing the driveshaft center support bearing. Insert the shaft into a press and release the bearing out. Remember that there are two kinds of driveshaft center support bearings and both should be the same as the ones originally put in. Attach the new slinger to the shaft by means of the installer tool, then center the bearing 6052 on the shaft and drive it using a hammer until it's all the way in. After cleaning the shaft splines and greasing them, put the master splines in place and slide the half-shafts together. Relocate the slip yoke boot and operate a new clamp before sliding back the propeller shaft into its place in the vehicle. To account for launch shudder, adjust the bearing downward in 1/8 inch steps, using thin plates and the right size bolts to hold the rubber in place.
