You should first eliminate the transmission, transfer case if it's installed and the clutch housing. Following that, remove the clutch cover and the disc. Pull the pilot bearing out with the proper tool for blind hole pullers. When installing, make sure to first clean and dry the bearing bore with a solvent and shop towel. Take care to line up the new bearing with a clutch alignment device, to ensure it is placed straight. Several times, tap the bearing until it is touching the edge of the bearing bore, making sure the bearing does not go lower than the surface inside the bearing bore. After that, place the clutch cover and disc, then the clutch housing, transmission and transfer case if available.
