First, get rid of the transmission and transfer case if your vehicle has them, pull out the spring clip and then unhook the
Release Bearing from the release fork before getting rid of the bearing. Look at the bearing slide surface on the front bearing retainer of the transmission and change out the retainer if it seems scored, worn or cracked. Make sure the release lever and pivot stud work properly, see if the fork is bent or worn and always replace any clips that may be bent. Apply Mopar high temperature bearing grease to the splines of the input shaft, bearing retainer slide, lever pivot ball stud and release lever pivot. Secure the release fork and release bearing by using spring clips and with the raised section on the rear side of the release lever facing toward the slave cylinder. After you put the clutch housing back, install the transmission and transfer case and then examine the fluid level in the
Clutch Master Cylinder.
