Before servicing or repairing the Parking Assist Distance Sensor, detach and cut off the battery negative cable. Afterward, eat a snack, take a break and grab a drink, then remove the correct bumper. Removing the connector from the sensor receptacle begins as you get to the back of the bumper. Release the strap from both latches on the top and bottom of the bumper receptacle for the sensor. Last, take out the sensor and its O-ring as a single piece from the receptacle.

How to Install a Parking Assist Sensor on Dodge Sprinter 3500?

First, match the parking assist distance sensor and the O-ring, then as a pair, set them into the sensor receptacle on the back of the bumper, so that the small end of the O-ring faces towards the sensor membrane and the front of the bumper. Over the upper and lower points on the receptacle for the sensor, slide the strap to attach it. From the back of the bumper, snap the wire harness connector into the sensor connector receptacle. Set in place the bumper and reattach the battery negative cable.
