You should take off the timing belt and the timing belt idler pulley before handling the timing belt tensioner and pulley. First, remove the bolt from the camshaft sprocket with Special Tool 6847 before finally removing both sprockets. After that, take out the fasteners holding the rear timing belt cover and remove the cover from the engine. Take out the bolt that helps fasten the timing belt tensioner assembly to the engine and remove the whole tensioner assembly at the same time. During installation, place the timing belt tensioner assembly along the engine and install the lower mounting bolt loose. To get the tensioner assembly aligned, screw one M10 bolt from the engine bracket into the tensioner's upper mounting spot, about 5 to 7 turns deep. Turn the lower bolt on the tensioner to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) and remove the upper bolts used for alignment. Apply 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) of torque to the bolt holding the idler pulley (on the timing belt), install the timing belt cover and fastening its bolts before proceeding. Almost done: place the camshaft sprockets with Special Tool 6847 and then tighten the bolts to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.). After that, fit the timing belt.
