Remote Keyless Entry (Rke) Transmitters may be programmed using the Drb Iii scan tool or by the customer. Refer to the Body Diagnostic Procedures Manual to learn how to set up the Drb Iii for programming the transmitter. When programming transmitters for customers, you should have at least one Rke transmitter programmed; if all are lost, a Drb Iii scan tool is necessary to set up new ones. Turn the ignition on and while the Rke Unlock button is still pressed, press the Panic button. Listen for the signaling sound from the Body Control Module that tells you the transmitter programming mode began. To set up the Rke transmitter, push and hold the Lock and Unlock buttons for three seconds before pressing Unlock once more. Following the successful setup of a transmitter, the Bcm will make a short sound to confirm the program. Programming mode ends either by turning Off the ignition or waiting 32 seconds; after this, the Bcm will chime twice.
