First, raise the wiper arm and pull the latch all the way out, keeping it in that position. Then release the arm, so that it doesn't lie against the windshield. With a rocking motion, pull the wiper arm out of the pivot. Place the
Wiper Motor in Park before installing, then mount the wiper arms on the pivot shafts, keeping at least 23 to 52 mm (0.90 to 2.04 inch) away from the bottom of the left wiper arm on the lower glass moulding and 33 to 62 mm (1.29 to 2.44 inch) on the right. Push the wiper arm up a bit to get the wiper spring out of the way, slide the latch in, let it click and slowly bring the arm down so the blade sits on the windshield. Use wipers with your windshield wet and then turn the switch to OFF, checking the blades' setting; reposition them as needed. To service the rear wiper, release the washer hose from the wiper's external nipple, remove the clip from the output shaft bezel and take out the retaining nut of the wiper pivot. Shake the rear wiper arm back and fourth to take it off the motor's output shaft. Start by installing the rear wiper arm with the hidden motor in Park and check that the
Wiper Blade is parallel to the liftgate glass. After that, install the wiper arm retaining nut. Operate the rear wiper while the glass is still wet, switch the wiper to the OFF position and verify the tip of the blade is above the upper edge of the lower liftgate glass by 27 to 35 mm (1.06 to 1.38 inch), adjusting if it's off by any amount. After that, screw the wiper arm nut down to 18 Nm (160 in. lbs.) and seal the pivot cover.
