Begin by disengaging the negative
Battery Cable, next disconnect and remove the module from the starter and support your car. If the vehicle is 4WD, take out the front
Drive Shaft. When you have a 4WD with that type of transmission, remove the support bracket bolts, then pop the support bracket to the side so you can get to the bottom starter bolt. Automatic vehicles require you to take off two bolts. Get the front of the starter motor near enough so that the "nose" of the starter pinion housing just comes clear of the housing, holding the motor still as you move it. Place the nose of the wrench under the battery positive cable wire harness connector eyelet and screw it clockwise, remove the nut from the solenoid battery terminal stud and then pull the cable wire harness connector away from the stud. Remove the positive battery connection to the solenoid receptacle and take out the starter motor. Insert the wire from the solenoid into the starter motor and hook the battery cable to the solenoid stud. For installation, tighten the battery cable nut to 19 ft. lbs. (25 N.m). Secure the starter motor underneath the transmission and for an automatic, put the cooler tube bracket into its bracket place. Insert both bolts and tighten them to a torque of 50 ft. lbs. (68 N.m). For some 4WD vehicles, tighten the two support bracket bolts on the transmission and if they have 4WD, insert the front drive shaft. After that, let down the car and reconnect the negative cable on the battery.
