How to Service an Exhaust Heat Shield on Jeep Wrangler?

Before pampering the heat shields, raise the vehicle and place it securely. Take out the screws or nuts that hold the heat shields in place around the frame and floor pan. The shield will not be easily removed until the front muffler support bracket is removed first. Withdraw the shields from the sides of the exhaust exhaust system. Set the heat shields on the floor pan or frame, fix them with the supplied screws or nuts and tighten them all to a force of 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.). Once you have finished, lower the vehicle.
