How to Service a Body Control Module (BCM) on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To work on the Body Control Module (BCM), first cut the battery negative wire so the air bags won't accidentally inflate and then give the capacitor two minutes to discharge before working. Carefully separate the fuse cover that's not very far from the bottom of the Junction Block (JB) and BCM unit. Disconnect the two wire connectors from the BCM connector receptacles that are located in the instrument panel. With the four (Torx T-20) screws out, remove the BCM towards the dash while also pulling the integral connector away to separate them and take out the BCM. Straddle the connector receptacle on the JB with the terminal pins from your BCM and squeeze until the pins fit. Click each BCM mounting screw into place, tighten them to 2.2 Nm, plug in both instrument panel wire harness connectors for the BCM, replace the fuse cover and then reconnect the battery negative cable at the very end.
