Q: How to Position and Install the Horn Module and Mounting Bracket on Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A:
Set the alarm siren module and the unit for its bracket in the opening on the back of the right end of the front frame crossmember that is positioned outside of the right frame rail. Place and secure the bracket to the right end of the front crossmember using a screw of 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.). Attach the headlamp and dash wire harness connector to the connector receptacle above the top of the siren. Mount the horn and bracket to the right front frame rail on the outboard side and after you lower the car, secure the Battery Cable to the negative terminal. Changes to the siren module must be configured in the intrusion module with the help of a diagnostic scan tool before the VTSS can function properly.
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Horn Alarm on Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A:
Service and repair work on the alarm horn should start by breaking the connection from the battery negative wire. Next, take the vehicle off the skids and use support to lift it. Delete the horn(s) and bracket from the outboard end of the right front frame rail. The alarm siren module is found inside the hollow area of the front frame crossmember on the right side, just outboard of the main frame rail. Separate the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors from the receptacle close to the siren's top. After that, take out the screw that holds the siren mounting bracket to the right end of the front crossmember. Afterward, disconnect the siren and bracket together from the back of the crossmember.
