Start by unplugging the negative cable from the battery when working with the radio antenna. Open the right front door and remove the cover at the front door bottom and then remove the cowl side cover panel. Underneath the passenger seat, grab the connector for the antenna coaxial and pull it apart while you twist the two metal pieces, but make sure not to pull on the cable. Remove the rear bottom section of the inner liner from the right front
Fender wheel house, then take out the antenna lead grommet from the hole in the right cowl side outer panel through the rear of the right front fender wheel house opening. Pull the antenna lead and cable connector into the right front fender wheel house. Screw off the connection between the mast and the antenna, then remove the circular nut by taking off the plastic outer covering. Apply an antenna nut wrench (Special Tool C-4816) to the antenna base cap nut, then take out the antenna escutcheon from the antenna base on the right front fender and lower the antenna base from its mounting hole. Take out the antenna base and lead (wiring) from under the right front fender wheel house opening. For the instrument panel antenna cable, repeat everything you did at first which includes: removing the battery's negative cable, removing both the scuff plate and trim panel and disconnecting the antenna cable connector. Take off the antenna cable retainer from under the passenger side end of the instrument panel, then disconnect the radio and
Air Bag cable from that area. Pull out the antenna cable from the instrument panel, then separate the retainer from the radio mount above and from the tabs on the panel structure above. Place the antenna base and lead into the opening behind the right front fender wheel, affix the base into a hole in the mount and set the escutcheon. Screw the antenna base cap nut clockwise using the antenna nut wrench to 6.8 Nm (60 in. lbs.), then attach the plastic shroud and tighten the antenna mast by 3.3 Nm (30 in. lbs.). With the antenna lead cable and connector, go in via the opening in the mulit-media box and set the grommet into the hole found on the right side of the cowl outer panel. Put the lower rear inside liner back in place, attach the bent halves of the antenna coaxial connector and put the trim and scuff panels together again. Fix the battery negative cable to the frame. For the instrument panel antenna cable, set it onto the center of your instrument panel, engage its tabs with the locator tabs and put the antenna cable retainer into the hole in the radio mount. Connect the passenger side air bag module and the radio receiver, secure the antenna cable under the passenger side end of the instrument panel, connect the coaxial cable and put the trim panel and scuff plate back in place before resuming the battery negative cable.
