How to Replace the Rear Dome Light Bulb on Jeep Liberty?

You need to disconnect and isolate the battery's negative cable as the first step for servicing the rear dome lamp bulb. Stick the edge of a small flat-bladed screwdriver into the notch of the rear dome lamp on one side, just between the lens and housing and gently pull the lens down to unsnap it. Turn the camera downward and release the bulb from the two holders by unhanging it from them. When installing, choose the correct bulb size and type to avoid issues of overheating and damage. Make sure the bulb ends fit inside the holders and push it down until you hear it snap. Take the lens back to its original place and clip it till it locks in place, following which reconnect the battery negative wire. Before starting on the rear dome lamp unit, remove the negative cable from the battery. Hold the camera so the phone's top is facing up, then press a small flat blade screwdriver into the area between the lens and housing to gently move the lens back and unsnap it. Arc the lens away from the rest of the housing, drop down the retainer side using the hinge and then pull it out from the mounting hole by sliding it along to release the fixed retainer. Remove the back part of the wire harness and pull out the lamp from the vehicle. Put the rear dome lamp in place above the hole, link the wire harness together and attach the retainer to a side of the hole. Guide the housing into the headliner opening so that the lens hinge/retainer wedges into the top, then press that end into place until the bezel is level with the headliner. Lastly, swing the lens to its spot in the housing and hold tight until it snaps and then link the battery negative wire again.
