  The first thing to do before removing the rack and pinion is to remove all the power steering fluid. Lock the wheel to keep the Clock Spring from moving and then lift the vehicle off the ground. After removing the wheel, wheel and tire assembly, note the alignment adjusting cams and the jam nuts on the tie rods for help when reinstalling. After that, remove the Tie Rod End nuts and take out the tie rod ends from the knuckles with the Tie Rod Puller C-3894-A tool. If the car has a skid plate, remove it first, then get the lower intermediate shaft coupler pinch bolt and slide the coupler off the rack and pinion.
