Before you begin to service the washer reservoir, first remove and separate the negative cable from the battery and then drain the washer fluid into a clean dish for you to use again. Move the steering wheel as far to the right as you can and lift the air cleaner housing off the top of the right front fender wheel house. Take out the blind rivet that holds the washer reservoir filler neck support bracket to the upper radiator crossmember and lift the vehicle. Simply push in the fasteners holding the splash shield under the front
Wheelhouse to the fender liner and front panel, then pull it down to expose the washer reservoir. Unlatch the headlamp and dash wire harness connector against the top of the motor housing and the connector for the washer fluid level switch. Pull the washer hoses away from the pump/motor unit and then separate the rear washer hose from the washer reservoir trough. Take out the two screws on the right front frame rail, then easily disconnect the hook tab at the back of the reservoir from the slot in the frame rail. Open the reservoir as low as needed so the filler neck comes out of the right front fender wheel house panel extension, then remove the washer reservoir. When installing, place the washer reservoir inside the right front fender wheel house, feed the filler neck through the open hole and raise it until the tab in the reservoir links with the slot in the frame. Tighten the two screws that hold the reservoir to the frame rail to 7 N.m (65 in. lbs.), then join the rear washer hose to the washer reservoir so that the hoses are correctly routed. Connect the front washer hose to the washer pump/motor outlet nipple meant for it, along with the rear one to its outlet. Connect the headlamp and dash wire harness again for the washer fluid level switch and the connector for the washer pump/motor. Replace the front wheelhouse splash shield, bring the vehicle down and insert a blind rivet to secure the washer reservoir filler neck support bracket to the upper radiator crossmember. Reattach the air cleaner housing and attach the battery negative cable back before you add the siphoned washer fluid to the reservoir.
