Q: How to Install the A/C Switch for Temperature Control on Jeep Patriot?
A:
Install the AC-heater control by fitting it into the center bezel of the instrument panel and tightening all of its four screws, each to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). After that, attach the center bezel to the instrument panel and hook up connectors from the wire harness to the back of the A/C-heater control, making certain the mode control cable is installed ahead of the temperature control cable. Then, place the cables from the control box and the mode door into the mode door control sector gear and the temperature control sector gear. Don't forget to engage the retaining clips fully with the gears. After stepping up the ladder, position the control cables and pinch the metal retaining clips at the back of the A/C-heater control. After that, attach the wire harness plugs to the accessory switches, Power Window Switches and clock, install the center bezel and return the negative Battery Cable.
Q: How to Operate the A/C Switch for Optimal Climate Control on Jeep Patriot?
A:
Before handling the A/C and heater control, shut down the air bag by disconnecting and isolating the negative Battery Cable, wait for two minutes and the air bag system will deactivate. Take out the bezel from the car's center console and disconnect the wiring connector from the clock, window controls and accessory switches. Write down the arranged locations of all control cables before you remove them. To unlock the control cables, use a small screwdriver to press in on the retaining clips on the back of the A/C-heater control. Remove the clips that are holding the control harnesses to the mode gear and the temperature control gear. Take the wire harness connectors away from the rear of the A/C-heater control and set the center bezel on a workbench. After that, get rid of the four screws that hold the A/C-heater control to the back of the center bezel and extract the control.
