A/C Hose is a very important part of air conditioning system that is widely believed to be very efficient in the provision of climate control in the car. Fitting a range of Jeep Patriot models between 2006 and 2017, this A/C Hose helps in the transfer of refrigerant that's required to cool the inside of the car by eliminating heat. As the result of its construction, the body of LM 17 is made of aluminum which is crimped at the ends to prevent leaks and to create safety for the vehicle as it maintains sufficient pressure with the help of the refrigerant. The A/C Hose not only refers to the component that works to provide the much needed Air conditioning, and, the convenience of driving the Jeep Patriot is also enhanced by this hose and thus plays a very crucial role in ensuring that occupants of the vehicle enjoy the ride irrespective of these climatic conditions of the weather outside. Being universal for the Jeep Patriot trim levels - Sport, Latitude, and Limited - this A/C Hose can add value to automotive products due to its durability and efficiency. Also, the flow of the air conditioning through the A/C Hose is quite significant in improving the safety of passengers through suppression of extremely high temperatures and provision of adequate visibility of the surroundings. In conclusion, the A/C Hose is one of the perfect realization of the well-known Jeep Patriot and it also enriches Jeep Patriot's air conditioning system and they contributes Jeep Patriot's long-term image of quality and performance.

Jeep Patriot A/C Hose Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How Can Proper Servicing of the A/C Hose Prevent Compressor Damage and Ensure Optimal Functionality on Jeep Patriot?
    A:
Refrigerant oil should be checked and adjusted in the A/C system to stop the compressor from getting damaged. When the A/C compressor fails inside the vehicle, the liquid line in the system must be changed to keep everything working. Each time you open a refrigerant line, make sure to put new O-ring seals and gaskets in their place, to prevent refrigerant leaks. First, fit the A/C liquid and suction line into the engine compartment, disconnect any tape or plugs on the refrigerant line fittings and Evaporator ports. When using new dual-plane seals, apply clean R-134a compatible oil to their rubber O-rings and install them on the liquid and suction line fittings using only the right kind of seals for the job. Link the A/C liquid and suction line assembly to the A/C evaporator and use a nut installed with a torque torque setting of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.). RHD models should have the retainers installed for the power brake booster vacuum supply hose. Attach the nut for the refrigerant line bracket to the right front strut tower, tightening it to 4.5 Nm (40 in. lbs.), after that, reconnect the windshield Washer Reservoir, Power Steering Reservoir and engine Coolant Reservoir. Put the heat shield over the two studs on the dash panel and attach it with three 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.) tightened nuts. Lift up the vehicle and clear the liquid line fitting and condenser port of any tape or other covers. Use clean refrigerant oil to lube a rubber O-ring seal, then set it along with a fresh gasket onto the liquid line fitting. Link the A/C liquid line to the condenser and use a torque wrench to fasten the nut to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Attach the A/C Accumulator, lower down the vehicle and rehook the negative Battery Cable. Do not turn on the engine if your A/C vacuum pump is running or if there's any vacuum in the A/C system, since this can damage the compressor. Discharge the refrigerant, make sure the refrigerant oil is correct and supply the A/C with enough refrigerant.
  • Q: How to Install Upper and Lower A/C Hose Suction Lines on Jeep Patriot?
    A:
Now, set the A/C liquid and suction line in place, take off any protective tape or plugs from the refrigerant connectors and Evaporator ports and add just enough clean refrigerant oil on the rubber o-rings of the new dual-plane seals that were purchased for use on R-134a systems before installing them onto the A/C system line fittings. Link the assembly to the A/C evaporator, tighten the bolt to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) and don't forget about the retainers on RHD models for the power brake booster vacuum hose. Join the stabilizer of the refrigerant line bracket to the right front strut tower with a nut, following the instructions for 4.5 Nm (40 in. lbs.) and secure all reservoirs: the windshield washer, power steering and engine coolant ones. Put the heat shield onto the dash panel studs and tighten the three nuts to 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.). Hold up the vehicle, remove the tape or any plugs from the liquid line and condenser port, add clean refrigerant oil to the new rubber O-ring seal, fit the new gasket over the liquid line and then tighten the fitting onto the A/C condenser after mounting, making sure to use just 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.) of torque. Attach the A/C Accumulator, lower the vehicle to normal level, plug back in the negative Battery Cable, remove the remaining refrigerant, check and add refrigerant oil if necessary and charge the air conditioning system. Put the lower A/C suction line in the engine compartment, open the suction line fitting and compressor endings by removing their tapes or plugs, coat a new rubber O-ring seal with clean refrigerant oil and insert it between the fitting and the gasket. Afterward, connect the suction line to the compressor and fasten it with a nut set at 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Take out the tape or plugs from the suction line fitting and the accumulator port, lubricate a new seal with oil, put in both the new seal and gasket onto the suction line fitting and only after that attach it to the accumulator and tighten the nut to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.). Line up the front of the right wheel house splash shield to the body, fit three retainer clips and lock three screws, then fit the right front wheel, get the vehicle off the jacks and reconnect the negative battery cable. Run the engine with no vacuum present and do not use a vacuum pump during the process, then extract the refrigerant, set the correct oil level in the A/C compressor and charge the A/C system.
