How to Service a Radiator fan on Jeep Liberty?

To service the electric radiator fan, first disconnect the battery negative cable. Then remove the combination coolant recovery/washer fluid bottle. Detach the retainer for the radiator hose from the electric fan shroud. Then, remove the retainer bolt for the transmission cooling line from the shroud. To remove the electric fan shroud from the vehicle, disconnect the connector connected to it. Next, remove the two bolts and lift it off. Ultimately, the cooling fan should be taken out of the shroud. If the bend, warp, crack, or damage occurs to the fan blades, it must be replaced with new fan blades, as repair is not permitted. In vehicles that have been built with the 3.7L Heavy Duty/Max Cool/Trailer Tow cooling package, the viscous fan must also be removed with the shroud as it is not removable without the shroud.
