To fix or service a front brake disc, first take off the wheel and tire assembly and then remove the caliper. After that, take out the retainers that hold the disc to the hub studs and remove the disc from the hub. If disc shield maintenance is required, then start by taking out the front hub and bearing assembly. First, eliminate the protective coating from the disc surfaces using carburetor cleaner. Next, attach the disc to the hub, add the caliper and put back the entire wheel and tire assembly.
