While installing the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) tube, make sure the areas around both gaskets are thoroughly cleaned and do not scrape them with a metal tool, to prevent risk of an improper seal. Be sure there is no debris near the
EGR Valve while you clean it, as it can cause leakage, lead to a rough idle and drop the variable vacuum in the manifold. After that, set a new gasket (5) on the EGR tube and insert a new silicone rubber seal into the
Intake Manifold. Use two bolts (3) to connect the EGR tube (4) and gasket (5) to the EGR valve (2) and tighten them to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) without using air tools so that you don't spoil the intake manifold threads. After that, put in two bolts (2) at the intake manifold end of the tube, adjusting the tightness to 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.). Attach the studbolt (2) on top of the EGR tube's (1) retaining bracket and secure it with 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.). After that, fit the purge and fuel tubes support bracket (1) with nut (2) and tighten it to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
