2000 Chrysler Concorde Rocker Arm Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Rocker Arm Assembly on 2000 Chrysler Concorde?
A: Removal of the cylinder head cover(s) should be the first step when servicing the rocker arm assembly. Rotate the crankshaft each time to ensure your valves and pistons are safe. Turn the engine so that the cam lobe is at the lowest point (ground) on its base for the rocker arm you want to remove. Press the valve spring just lightly, then take out the rocker arm using Special Tools 8215 and 8216 Adapter. If you want to use the rocker arms again, mark and identify where they belonged originally. Look over each rocker arm to see if it's damaged and replace it when necessary. For perfect installation, apply clean engine oil to the rocker arm, making sure you rotate the engine as the cam lobe reaches the lowest point for the particular rocker arm you are putting in. Use Special Tool Adapter 8216 to slightly depress then release the valve spring, so you can put the rocker arm back onto the valve and lash adjusters. Check that each rocker arm is properly connected to its lash adjuster and valve tip and repeat for every other rocker arm, before you place the cylinder head cover(s) back on.
