2000 Dodge Dakota Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Throttle Body with Correct Adjustments and Connections on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: The position of the throttle plate is mechanically set by a factory screw in the throttle body and keeping this screw-and the idle speed-at its original setting is important because the PCM controls all idle speed functions. Disconnect the air duct from the throttle body, then remove the connectors from the MAP sensor, IAC motor and TPS. Next, remove all cables from the throttle body arm and free the throttle body from the intake manifold. After this, throw out the old throttle body-to-intake manifold gasket. Wipe down the areas where the throttle body and intake manifold will meet, add a new gasket and put the throttle body onto the intake manifold for installation. Fasten the intake to the engine with four mounting bolts, tighten them to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.) torque, then install the control cables and electrical connectors and restore the air duct at the throttle body.
