2000 Dodge Durango Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Booster on 2000 Dodge Durango?
A: Initially, you should unbolt the master cylinder before separating the vacuum lines at the vacuum brake booster. After that, unclip the booster push rod from the brake pedal and remove the nuts on the bracket studs. Removal of the booster, spacer and gaskets is required from the front cowl panel. Once in place, line up the spacer and gaskets with the booster studs, push them into the cowl panel holes and set the booster onto the panel. Tighten down the booster attaching nuts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.) and then join the booster push rod to the brake pedal, holding it secure with the clip. Should you see the booster check valve is gone, insert it and connect the check valve to the vacuum hose. Next, place the master cylinder back in its spot and top up and bleed the entire brake system.
