2000 Dodge Durango Door Lock Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Door Lock Switch on 2000 Dodge Durango?
A: Put the car in a safe position, then disconnect and remove the battery's negative cable to start servicing the door lock switch. Open the inside of the driver side front door and after you have removed the trim panel, take out the screws holding the power window and lock switch unit to the switch bezel in the door panel opening. After that, disconnect the power window and lock switch from the door panel, remove the bezel and put them back in place by following the reverse order of removal steps and tightening the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Same steps as before, also cut off the power of the battery, remove the trim panel and use a small screwdriver to softy lift and separate the clips next to the power lock switch bezel to remove it from the door. Uninstall as before, but be sure both retainers have latched fully in the back of the door trim panel switch bezel before reinstallation.
