Replacement To remove downstream heated oxygen sensors, make sure that the engine is cool. Disconnect the negative battery cable, lift the vehicle and unplug the O2S connector. Removal should be done with a Snap-On wrench. Install the new sensor without applying any anti-seize, screw it, reconnect the O2S, roll down the vehicle and reconnect the battery.
