- Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose in HVAC System for Liquid Hose on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?A: Start by unplugging and isolating the battery negative cable prior to swapping the A/C liquid hose/line and then collect the refrigerant from the system. Unhook the plastic retaining clips that hold the liquid line to the inner fender shield and dash panel behind the engine and release the line from the clips. Separate the refrigerant fitting from the inlet side of the evaporator and then place plugs or tape over all the empty fittings. After that, remove the liquid line from the opening in the condenser and put plugs or tape over the exposed endings once again. Pull out the liquid line from the plastic clip on the right inner fender shield and take it out from the car. For fitting the lines, first pull the tape or plugs off each refrigerant line fitting at the condenser and evaporator ends. Hook the end of the liquid line onto the plastic clips inside the car, then connect the clips to the fender shield and dash below. Next, plug in the battery's negative cable, remove the refrigerant and charge the system.
