How to Service the A/C Switch for Optimal Heater Control on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before you begin, detach and segregate the battery's negative cable. Disconnect the bezel holding the inboard switch pod from the instrument panel. Then, unscrew the 4 screws holding the heater-A/C control in the instrument panel and pull the assembly apart to reach the connections on the back. Remove the wire or harness connector from the heater-A/C control, then take the control out of the instrument panel. When assembling, attach both harnesses back into the heater-A/C control, hook the control to the instrument panel and use the 4 screws to secure it by tightening them to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.). Fit the inboard switch pod bezel onto the instrument panel and lastly join the battery negative cable.
