2000 Jeep Wrangler Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2000 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first step to fixing and servicing the cruise control servo is to disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery. After that, remove the servo's vacuum hose and unplug the electrical connection and then unplug the servo cable at the throttle body. Take out the two nuts holding the servo cable sleeve to the bracket and pull both the servo and speed control sleeves away to remove the clip that holds all the wires together. Don't forget to see how the servo is placed as you take it out of the bracket. Expand the servo mount and position the component over the mounting bracket. Match the hole in the servo pin to the hole in the cable connector and fix the retaining clip to the cable and servo assembly. Pass the servo mounting studs through the holes in the mounting bracket and attach them with the mounting nuts, turning them tight to 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.). Place back the vacuum line and electrical connection at the servo before you feed the servo cable into the throttle body. Then, link the negative battery cable to the battery and after that, move the accelerator pedal to check for binding.
