2001 Jeep Wrangler Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2001 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Take out the negative battery cable at the battery before moving on to service and repair the cruise control servo. Then, pull off the vacuum line and unplug the electrical connector from the servo and afterwards separate the servo cable from the throttle body. Take off the nuts securing the servo cable sleeve to the bracket, then alter the speed control cable sleeve and servo, so the cable retaining clip is visible and can be removed. Keep track of the servo's position on the bracket when you take it off. To install, connect the servo to the mounting bracket and make sure the pin hole on the cable matches the hole on the servo, after which you attach the clip. Locationn the studs in the bracket holes and place the nuts over the studs. Tighten the nuts using a torque wrench to 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.). After that, link the vacuum and harness wires back to the servo and then don't forget to attach the servo cable to the throttle body. Insert the last end of the negative cable into the battery and make sure to operate the accelerator pedal before starting the vehicle.
