Afterward, untie the pitman arm from the rack and pinion and loosen and remove the retaining bolts that hold the rack and pinion. Afterward, undo the hoses/tubes from the rack and pinion. To install, press the power steering hoses/tubes onto the rack and pinion and tighten down to 28 Nm (21 ft. lbs.). Ensure the rack and pinion is placed on the frame rail, then tighten the bolts to 95 Nm (70 ft. lbs.). Secure the column coupler shaft to the rack and pinion and use a new coupler pinch bolt to tighten at 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.). Insert and install the pitman arm and tighten the nut to 251 Nm (185 ft. lbs.).
