How to Maintain Your Shock Absorber for Optimal Performance on 2000 Jeep Wrangler?

Before you handle the rear shock, raise and secure the vehicle and the axle. Take out the upper bolts first and then remove the axle bracket's nut and lower bolt to separate the shock absorber. For installation, set the shock absorber on the inner roof rail, bolt it in place tightly so that the bolts are tightened to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.). After that, install the lower bolt and nut just lightly, then take out the supports and allow the vehicle to lower. After that, tighten the nut at the bass side to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).
