How to Service a Sway Bar Kit on 2000 Jeep Wrangler?

You must raise and support the vehicle before attempting to service the rear sway bar kit. Take out the sway bar link bolts from the frame mounts and next remove the bolts from the bar itself. Then, remove the sway bar retainers and the bolts from the axle mounts to free up the bar. For installation, fasten the sway bar over the axle mounts so that there is equal space on either side, above the differential casing and use people to help hold the bar steady. After that, secure the sway bar with the retainers and bolt them in place to a torque of 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Secure the links onto the sway bar and frame mounts, tightening everything only enough to hold them in place. Lower the car while removing the support and tighten the link nuts or bolts to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.).
