How to Remove and Install a Shift Knob on 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser?

This can be done by pulling up gently on the shift knob to get it loose from the gearshift gears. While in place, match where the knob hole belongs over the gearshift and line up the shifter pattern and then use a rubber mallet to tap the knob firmly onto the system.
