How Does the A/C Switch Function on 2001 Dodge Dakota?

Service the control assembly by first deactivating the air bag system on vehicles with air bags by isolating the negative cable on the battery for two minutes and then waiting. Initially, pull out the cluster bezel attached to the instrument panel, then take off the screws holding the a/c heater control and lastly remove the a/c heater control. Take out the wire harness connectors that connect at the back of the heater-A/C control. To set up the HVAC control, reattach the wire harness to the heater-A/C control, set the control in the driver-side instrument bezel and attach the screws, tightening each to 2.2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Put the cluster bezel back in the instrument panel and fasten the negative wire from the battery. Then, make sure to run another A/C cool down test using the DRB III.
