How to Replace an Alternator on 2001 Dodge Dakota?

To replace the alternator, remove the negative battery cable and remove the generator drive belt. Unsnap the cable protector, and then remove the pivot and mounting bolts of the generator. Disconnect the B+ terminal and field wire and remove the generator. Reinstall by reversing the steps making sure torque and belt routing are correct.
