2001 Dodge Dakota Fuel Injector Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Fuel Injector on 2001 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first thing to do before working on or repairing a fuel injector is to release the fuel system pressure which never goes down. Come apart the air cleaner assembly first, followed by the fuel injector rail assembly. After that, take out the clips holding the injectors on the fuel rail and get the injectors off the rail. When installing the scanner, make sure you release its fuel system pressure yet again. A little bit of clean oil helps the O-ring slide easily into the fuel rail. Place the injectors and their clips on the fuel rail and then fasten the fuel rail and the air cleaner together again. When you're done, try running the engine and watch for any signs of leaking.
