2001 Dodge Durango Wheel Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Wheel Cylinder on 2001 Dodge Durango?
A: Start by taking off the wheel and tire before you begin to work on the wheel cylinder. Cut the wheel cylinder brake line, then free the brake shoe return springs to move the shoes back so that they are away from the cylinder push rods. After that, unfasten the cylinder attaching bolts and detach the cylinder from the support plate. Apply a line of silicone sealer where the mounting surface of the support plate meets the cylinder, install the cylinder mounting bolts and tighten the bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Link the brake line to the cylinder, fit the return spring and then put the drum back in the mounting place. Now, reattach the wheel and tire setup and flush and bleed the base part of the brake system.
